Have you ever heard it said that someone "rose above their station?" Perhaps that's even been said about you.

To rise above one's station means growing more prosperous, more powerful, or more popular than is considered suitable for the position, rank, or the social class into which we were born. While many of us might shake our heads and say that doesn't make sense in a modern world, most of us still have unconscious beliefs about what we can and cannot due based on our social conditioning. Often, we don't create beyond the confines of our conditioning.

When we are born, we take on many ideas, attitudes, and beliefs our family and community have about social class. We also take on prejudices about our own and other classes. This can create a "glass ceiling" in regards to what we can make in our businesses, finances, and relationships.

Often, our social conditioning comes with feelings of "unworthiness." If we were born into a class where there wasn't much money, or there was struggle, or poverty, the sense of unworthiness can get ingrained into us and become part of our psyche. Our families' beliefs can also keep us boxed in, especially if there's shame around what we want to create.

So we struggle or don't create because of the attitudes we adopted from our social class or family. We need to break through this to achieve our highest potential and create the businesses and relationships we would like. That is what life is about.
